Kara Allnutt, MA LMFT ADHD-CCSP
Hello! Do you find that you are struggling to find ways to communicate with your child? Do you feel that you just haven’t found a therapist that “clicks” with your or your family’s needs? Or perhaps that daily stress just seems to put a strain on your emotional health? If this sounds too familiar, you might just be in the right place
As a marriage and family therapist, I believe in the importance of relationships and healthy communication. I work on building a friendly, fun, trusting atmosphere with the children, teens, and families that I work with, where you can be creative and uninhibited. I love to play, laugh, and joke with you, as I find that real emotional healing happens when we can be our authentic selves and feel comfortable in growing and learning how to express ourselves more genuinely.
My approach to therapy is integrative and emotion focused. I have a license in Marriage and Family Therapy and an M.A. in Counseling from Messiah College. I have experience working with all ages and backgrounds, though I specialize in children, teens, and young adults. I have spent about 6 years working directly in schools and in homes, and the past 2 years in outpatient therapy. I have found that I am able to get through to many teens and adolescents who have previously not been very engaged in therapy. I have experience in helping individuals work through family relational problems, anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, trauma, sexual abuse, and Mood Disorders. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and I have an ADHD specialist certification (ADHD-CCSP).
I look forward to meeting you and helping you develop happier relationships!
Alison Lingel, Masters Level Clinician
Hello! My name is Alison Lingel, and I have master’s degree in clinical counseling with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Eastern University. For the last ten years, I have used my undergraduate education degree from Elizabethtown College to teach in elementary and special education. My first master’s degree is in Teaching English as a Second Language from Tel Aviv, Israel.
I love advocating for the needs, interests, and goals of children, families, and adults, and I enjoy creatively and positively helping clients solve unique challenges. I particularly appreciate building positive relationships and connections and encouraging all to reimagine the mental health stigma. Everyone, me included—can benefit from the growth and support of speaking with a therapist!
My compassionate, creative, and optimistic nature helps me to connect with individuals having a variety of life challenges. My therapeutic foundation is quite integrative, incorporating cognitive behavioral, client-centered, and psychoeducational techniques. My collaborative approach focuses on active listening, validating emotions and thoughts, and personalizing the therapeutic style for the individual clients for whom I serve.
My goal is to provide genuine care and curiosity about you as a client and what you are going through during our work together each session. Recently, my family joyfully welcomed a second baby, and the throes of parenting are simultaneously hilarious, gratifying, and challenging, and I can empathize with you every step of the way! Regardless of your unique life journey, I very much look forward to meeting you, as well as working and learning collaboratively from one another!
